Daisy Houang has over 16 years of experience working on a variety of projects ranging from small-scale fixture design to large-scale, multi-use urban developments. Her work in New York, London, and Paris has given her a global awareness of design including insight into cultural methodologies and ideologies and an understanding of architectural practices in the United States and abroad. She is currently applying this knowledge in her current role on New York University’s 181 Mercer project,  a new 735,000 sf, mixed-use facility providing new facilities for several departments ranging from athletics, performing arts, and academic classrooms to university housing for students and faculty. Previously she worked on several projects for US Department of State Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO), including the new 1,000,000 sf US Embassy Compound in Mexico City. Designed in collaboration with Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, the project encompasses chancery office building, security guard quarters, screening facilities, parking, and a public library.

Daisy also leads the firm’s Design Dialogues committee, which spearheads many of the firm’s design competition efforts, and regularly engages the staff and visiting professionals and scholars on wide range of issues, from sustainable design, to design history, to the role of architecture and urban design in social and racial justice.
